The Main CSU East Bay Computer Facility Goes Live with VeraLab California State University, East Bay embraces VeraLab solution to increase efficiency and security of its computer labs
San Mateo, Calif., Sep. 23, 2004 -- Suricatta Software, the leading provider of Computer Lab Management Systems,
today announced that Cal State East Bay has deployed VeraLab computer lab management suite.
The installation included the entire feature set namely, user registration and waitlists, workstation locking, concurrent license management, surveillance, lab manager's dashboard, workstation maintenance, manager reports, hourly employee attendance tracking and payroll,
"alert lists", and other functionality.
"VeraLab is a product that has increased the productivity of my lab workers as well as has provided my staff with a real-time method of determining usage of lab resources," said Jeniffer Wellington, Coordinator, CSU East Bay Student Technology Services. "At a glance, I can see how many users are logged into my various locations, can pull up an ad-hoc report regarding peak periods and least used periods for the lab. This product also provides me with a method of checking my employee hours since they use the utility to log onto their shifts. I can actually see how much I will spend on payroll with the click of a button!" Wellington continued: "The web-based access is very helpful when I need to report on my department and am away from the facility. From a conference room, I can log into the web interface and display information. This is the best product we have found to date! Thanks to VeraLab, I am able to better track all of my lab workers and the resources my staff and I have input into the utility! I am also able to find out which user was using a particular workstation at a specific point in time and this has helped us track down hackers who attempted to hack from our lab. Thanks to the makers of VeraLab for delivering such a wonderful and useful tool!" The system has been developed by "down to the earth" experts with lots of practical lab experience; this is why it fit CSU East Bay's business environment. All the changes necessary to accommodate for lab staff responsibilities required just several hours of setup work and no code customizations. East Bay has expressed an interest in implementing future releases of VeraLab. Although the system developed by Suricatta Software already possesses an impressive amount of functionality, the company is in search for new ways to provide value for its customers and will come out with other exciting features soon. "We would like to take a chance and express our gratitude to Jeniffer Wellington for her support, commitment, and contribution to VeraLab," says Andre Pogodin, the CEO of Suricatta Software "We are pleased to deliver the solution that enabled Cal State East Bay to leap forward in computer lab security and efficiency."
